Of City Lights and Family Love.

Weiyann's attempt at being artistic. (Okay, I know my nose is flat, Gdine shh)

So yeah I'm back and finally used to the idea that I'm back.
I share this love/hate relationship with escapes because I need them,
yet I hate the after effects.

Took me two whole days to re orientate myself and find my place again, makes it sound as though I've been gone for months (Imagine if I were to leave for exchange, hmm...)

Spent a good four days (maybe less) in Malaysia; KL and Penang (for 24 hours, hah)
Caught a movie every night for the first two days since it was really cheap and, we didn't exactly have anything else to do when the shops closed.
Kungfu Panda and Hulk! Kungfu Panda was seriously hilarious, good show for laughs I guess (: Hulk, on the other hand, was a typical Marvel movie? But who doesn't like Superhero movies right. (:

We probably wasted more time travelling than anything else; arrived in KL close to 3, spent the entire Wednesday afternoon travelling up to Penang (we reached at 7) and the journey back to Spore took approximately 10hours.

We probably also wasted more money than ever; forfeiting one nights hotel stay, our coach ticket back from KL for our coach ticket up to Penang, paying for ripped off taxi rides which we still thought was cheap (compared to Singapore, hah hah), shopping for the sake of shopping when they weren't any cheaper than back here, paying 75rm each for 3 rollercoaster rides and 2 pointless rides, spending too much, way too much on food, but I daresay the only thing we do best is eating. (Yes, I know, fattening!) If any consolation, our hotel was pretty well located among the malls so we could walk to almost anywhere.
Oh, and we swam for like, half an hour too.

Food; we had Starbucks upon arrival, Dunkin' Donuts, pretty good Thai food for dinner, breakfast was hotel buffet. We tried TGI-Fridays because Singapore doesn't have it, ate Secret Recipe cos it was much cheaper. Visted Hainan Town cos if we don't, we'd regret it (haha). And immediately after dinner we went down to Pulau Tikus (Rat Island!) for supper, char kway teow, ice kachang, satay, gosh. Old Town for breakf cos they have unique toast and white coffee (which, I found out today, exists in Singapore!) , tried Paddington's House Of Pancakes cos ... my Aunts decided to (but it was pretty unique and the menu is seriously overwhelming), and forced Baskin Robbins down our gut cos we just HAD to. Dinner on the last day was pathetic cos we were rushing for the coach (which, in the end left at like 9pm!) and dabaoed Macdonalds. So I'm sick now because of the Spicy Beef Foldover I had. =(

Shopping was the least fruitful, there wasn't much to get. Maybe we didn't know the right places to go or something, but I barely saw stuff that caught my eye =(

The 24 hours spent in Penang (including sleep time, which took up about 7 hours?) was chaotic. We waited to rush and rushed to wait; but we had to since we were "squeezing so many days itenary into 24 hours" (quoteunquote Aunt).

Fell asleep while talking to Shan who was more energetic than we were (it was about 2plus am) and woke up the next morning to knocks on the door at 7am to wake him up for school.
830am; I heard the door open, and silence. Then I heard her shoes against the wooden tiles. "Good morning! Good morning!" as she crawled into bed and kissed us good morning.
Then the elder followed into the room greeting us good morning.
It happened only once, but I probably miss that moment the most.

We picked the girls up from school after brunch, had an insane moment with the two at the backseat of the car (btw, Sarah puked when we reached home). Rushed to Queensbay (I think it's their biggest shopping mall) then rushed to pick Sherilyn on the way back. No, we had to wait for her cos she refused to do her work! >=(
By the time we got back we barely had time to shower nor eat, we just had to pack and kiss goodbyes to the little ones and leave. =(

So yeah, as posted earlier, the fucking coach abandoned us (and two other individuals) at Woodlands Customs. We had to make 1890352 long distance phonecalls involving the Singapore Gu.nungRa.ya branch which wasn't linked to the Penang one and more more complications you could never think of. We cleared Customs in less than 10 minutes (thanks to the biometric system!) but waited for more than an hour though we clearly saw the bus leave.
IN THE END, we spent unnecessary time and money cabbing back. =(

In any case, we hope we can get our sweaters back somehow. (It will heal half my broke heart) Seems like the bus is returning to Singapore tomorrow morning and our sweaters are still on it.

Had dinner with Shai, Maya, Melz and Yanns that very night of return.
Was too sick and tired to be active actually. But we had a good time anyhow.
Shai wants to go waxing one day. Heh heh.
On the way back, Y and I were overly engrossed with our conversation that she missed her stop. Heh.
Oh And Melz, if you see this, I expect a House Warming anytime sooon!!
