DESARU!

Pictures from Desaru that I'm too lazy to reorganise and arrange in chrono order.

Anyhow, it was a good trip. A last minute pangseh which turned out to be a blessing in disguise cos it made everything easier with an even number.
Also, a table only has 4 corners right?

First trip together but definitely not the last.
And it is getaways like this that help you take a breather, allows you to brace yourself for reality when you return.
Like in my case, where I was brutally thrown into the sea of truth with no float, no life jacket, no way out.

EXAMS SHOULD NEVER EAT INTO DECEMBER.

LIKE THEY DON'T EAT INTO MAY.
COS DECEMBER = CHRISTMAS = HOLIDAY
AND MAY = LABOUR DAY = HOLIDAY.

SIANSATION.

WAS SO UPSET YESTERDAY I WENT OUT THE WHOLE DAY TO SLACK, REST, RELAX, RECUPERATE, RECHARGE, WHATEVER.
Caught 2012 and it was awesome.

Shallow Lives.

I hate the aftermath of a bad, weird dream.
But after I'm over the shock and I'm back in reality, I always wonder how and where these bad dreams surface from.

By the way, I'm currently hating life. Hate how I only have a pair of hands and 100000 things to do. Hate how I've to wake up to an sms from whoever about whatever whichever and I can't go back to sleep cos I must get out of bed to settle it asap. Hate how I need to run from place to place to meet people to get things. Hate how I have too much initiative sometimes. Hate how I keep complaining. Hate Fridays.

ROAR.
Want school to start.

I Am Perpetually HANGRY.

Monday; belated Birthday meet up with the newly-turned twentyfirst.

Intended swimming session turn laze-by-the-corner-and-catch-up, til the lifeguard forbade us to leave as we "talked more than we swam".

Soon, Touch is going to occupy more than half of my life per week.
As if that is not already new, I'm beginning to grow more and more weary from it.
Trulymadlydeeply can't wait for S.TL to end, it has been much of a pain than a pleasure.
With the growing expectations, increasing demands, and heavier responsibilities, even the slightest things that may seem insignificant to another weighs twice as much on my shoulders.
SIGH.

Where is my short holiday to anywhere?

"I Have So Much To Say!"

Yes, I am officially year 3 with the release of results on Friday.

I remember frantically logging off before it was 12 so I would refrain from checking my results.
I didn't give S a chance to speak when he called by screaming "DON'T TELL ME! I DON'T WANT TO KNOW!" repeatedly through the phone. Funny.

Anyhow, I've officially completed HALF of my University education.
It has been quite a journey, with changes and new beginnings to anticipate at the start of every sem; something different to look forward, and next sem is no different.
Another two years to go til graduation (NOT looking forwardddd), but also another two years with T.rojan, and another four semesters of exciting chapters to unfold.

Holidays on the other hand, have been insanely occupied with trainings.
Yeah, ok like what's new. For the whole of last week, F.oc / T.ouchattack planning has consumed much of my braincells and energy. It has been almost a month since I was "stressed up".
But all is well and three cheers to that.

City Of Sails.

Well, I had to write a summary of the trip for Wan.toks,

so I shall just cnp the email here, as my blog post. Hahah.

------------------------------------------

Hi Wan.toks! The Baby-toks are back from NZ! (:
It's a really beautiful place, the people are soo friendly and welcoming, and all of us enjoyed our stay there!

Sooo, we were gone for 10 days, of which we spent 2 travelling,
and played some pretty awesome touch almost every day we were in NZ!
The first 4 days were the Y.outh World Ch.allenge where we met with teams from NZ, Australia and South Africa.
We played both U20s and U18s, and lost pretty miserably, BUT we all felt the trip was still enriching, cos we learnt something from every team.
Each team we played with was very impressive, especially the Aussie teams, who were disciplined and structured, yet knew when to break away from it to play what's in front of them. We also met with an Australian coach, Carly, who gave us feedback on our game, and taught us new dirty tricks (heh heh).

For the Women's U20s team, our closest match was with South Africa's U18s (9-6), where we really stepped up our game. We started executing our moves properly, dummy-scooping, and playing their weakness to our advantage.

We also watched more impressive touch, between Australia and NZ, where we wow-ed and gasp-ed at their perfect long passes and diving techniques. Some games involved fights (like an NZ girl wanting to punch an Aussie guy), most games involved tension, and one Mens game was especially exciting when NZ played with only 5 men for almost the entire game (yet they had a rather good strong defence).
Why? Because, during an interception by an Aussie guy, an NZ guy ran to the sub box so that another sub could run out from the other end of the box, gaining 20m advantage, and catching up with the Aussie guy.
The ref gave the penalty touchdown, sent the NZ guy off, hence they played with only 5 for the rest of the game.

After the 4-day tournament, we moved on to play their clubs, who were also really good. Then we discovered their secret, which was to start playing young. Some of them start from as early as 8 years old, and some of the girls we played at the club side were only 12 (and already good at the game!)

We also ice dip every night in the already freezing wind, and wear our skins after every game (thanks Wantoks for the skins, again! We all love it and needed it). We carbo load everyday (potatoes, bread, pasta, :s) and don't sleep enough (sleep about 11 something, wake up at 6).
We've also had lotsa injuries (sprained thumb, pulled hamstring, injured knee/shoulder/ankle) but were very well taken care of by the physios upstairs.

We also shopped til we dropped, where some ran like they never did before to an Adidas store about 200m away to get a visor for $10,
some bungy-ed (like Anne who refused to return to SG to say she chicken-ed out so she jumped anyway),
and all of us made friends with the people there.

But overall, in this trip, we definitely bonded, learnt something new about each other and about the sport. And in my opinion, the most important thing we took back from this trip is, that in this game of Touch, trusting the person next to you on the field, and having confidence with the person on the other end beats any fancy moves, or individual flair.

Ok, really long email. But NZ WAS AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! (:

-----------------------------------------------

And stuff to add on my own,
On the first day of the Tourney, I hurt my thumb again, went for physio then x-ray, cos it was suspected fracture (and I was so scared :( )
But the results came the next day and no fracture, so thankGod ((:
Subsequently, every game I play, my right hand is severely taped like a cast. Quite funny(: but it felt more secure.

And and and, the skies in Auck.land are soooo beautiful. They are filled with stars like those you see in the movies and never think exist. (: It is an absolutely beautiful sight(:

It Waits For No One.

I knew time flies,

and I knew it would all happen fast.
But I didn't know "fast" meant quicker than the speed of light.

School is starting tomorrow, and I still feel like it's Mid-dec.
As much as training five, six times a week drains every single bit of me,
and I whine about it quite a bit, I really (definitely) prefer trainings to school.

First week of school, last week of IVP.
And then I'm whizzed to NZ. Before I can even realise it.

Feels really surreal.
:( And I'm shifting back to 13 tonight,
without an access card. How brilliant.

Gawd, it's all happening to fast.

The Future Scares Me.

Before you even know it, we are already past Mid-dec! :(

6 days to Christmas; that's less than a week.
That means....
14 days to Iv.p,
17 days to restart of school,
and 27 days to NZNZNZNZ.

EVERYTHING IS LESS THAN A MONTH AWAY.

And for a some peculiar reason, I feel extremely nostalgic tonight.
(No it's different from being emotional)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMY!

Sweet And Low.

Absence makes the heart fonder.

Last week felt much more like Holidays for real,
despite rushing from place to place quite a bit,
it was sufficiently filled with post-exam to dos:
Movies (Four Christmases, Bolt), satisfying cravings (Soup spoon, Chompchomp!),
catch ups, supper, (window) shopping, birthday (Sk's 22nd at Mac).

Unfortunately, more touch and trainings than anything.
School trainings, Youth trainings, Friendlies, Fitness test(s).
One more month.
My legs are becoming big til my skins feel like they're gonna tear. ):

A typical Sunday;
A pint of ice cream and movies on the lappy/teevee, and lazing around.
Apple pie from Is.landCreamery((((:

And Monday, preoccupied with Puzzle Fight.er, more movies, more lazing around.

Another week of trainings/friendlies but there's my S.s to look forward to. Sarah Sherilyn Shan. ((((((((((((:
But of course, that's if all else doesn't fail.

All good things come to an end.

I Need Your Loving Hands.

Selamat Hari Raya and Happy Children's Day.

I spent the day watching two episodes of G.ossipgirl and two episodes of Heroes,
and attempting to beat friends on Word Challenge.
Oh, and reaching Macs at 10:50 to see that their breakf menu has changed to the lunch one. =(

Welcome back to reality and Hall of Torture.
I pray for tomorrow to be a really great day. Please.

"My Love Is All I Have To Give."

If I could, I'd put Monday on Repeat Mode.
With a little alterations here and there; like:

  • replacing the morning with Tuesday's, and how I was pleasantly woken up from my sleep.
  • replacing bedtime with last night though I threw a midnight tantrum
  • replacing the weather with breeeeeeeeeezy. :D

Nothing beats a homecooked meal with your loved ones,
and ice cream for dessert.
And us making ondeh ondeh together with Mommy. (:

Here's to another weekend, entirely consumed by Touch. =(

Homecoming,

3 more days til school starts, 3 more days til I determine my Academic year.

I only have that 3and a half hours to determine my future. (OH FUCK!!!!!!!! I just remembered training is at 530. DIE) Right.... Now I need alternative plans =(

Anyhow, don't want school to start. Don't want holidays to end. I've had enough fun, I miss school, but I'm not ready. =(

Busy weekend ahead. But can't wait. Hope we don't screw up.
And Ahgong, don't be so greeeeen. ;)

Of City Lights and Family Love.

Weiyann's attempt at being artistic. (Okay, I know my nose is flat, Gdine shh)

So yeah I'm back and finally used to the idea that I'm back.
I share this love/hate relationship with escapes because I need them,
yet I hate the after effects.

Took me two whole days to re orientate myself and find my place again, makes it sound as though I've been gone for months (Imagine if I were to leave for exchange, hmm...)

Spent a good four days (maybe less) in Malaysia; KL and Penang (for 24 hours, hah)
Caught a movie every night for the first two days since it was really cheap and, we didn't exactly have anything else to do when the shops closed.
Kungfu Panda and Hulk! Kungfu Panda was seriously hilarious, good show for laughs I guess (: Hulk, on the other hand, was a typical Marvel movie? But who doesn't like Superhero movies right. (:

We probably wasted more time travelling than anything else; arrived in KL close to 3, spent the entire Wednesday afternoon travelling up to Penang (we reached at 7) and the journey back to Spore took approximately 10hours.

We probably also wasted more money than ever; forfeiting one nights hotel stay, our coach ticket back from KL for our coach ticket up to Penang, paying for ripped off taxi rides which we still thought was cheap (compared to Singapore, hah hah), shopping for the sake of shopping when they weren't any cheaper than back here, paying 75rm each for 3 rollercoaster rides and 2 pointless rides, spending too much, way too much on food, but I daresay the only thing we do best is eating. (Yes, I know, fattening!) If any consolation, our hotel was pretty well located among the malls so we could walk to almost anywhere.
Oh, and we swam for like, half an hour too.

Food; we had Starbucks upon arrival, Dunkin' Donuts, pretty good Thai food for dinner, breakfast was hotel buffet. We tried TGI-Fridays because Singapore doesn't have it, ate Secret Recipe cos it was much cheaper. Visted Hainan Town cos if we don't, we'd regret it (haha). And immediately after dinner we went down to Pulau Tikus (Rat Island!) for supper, char kway teow, ice kachang, satay, gosh. Old Town for breakf cos they have unique toast and white coffee (which, I found out today, exists in Singapore!) , tried Paddington's House Of Pancakes cos ... my Aunts decided to (but it was pretty unique and the menu is seriously overwhelming), and forced Baskin Robbins down our gut cos we just HAD to. Dinner on the last day was pathetic cos we were rushing for the coach (which, in the end left at like 9pm!) and dabaoed Macdonalds. So I'm sick now because of the Spicy Beef Foldover I had. =(

Shopping was the least fruitful, there wasn't much to get. Maybe we didn't know the right places to go or something, but I barely saw stuff that caught my eye =(

The 24 hours spent in Penang (including sleep time, which took up about 7 hours?) was chaotic. We waited to rush and rushed to wait; but we had to since we were "squeezing so many days itenary into 24 hours" (quoteunquote Aunt).

Fell asleep while talking to Shan who was more energetic than we were (it was about 2plus am) and woke up the next morning to knocks on the door at 7am to wake him up for school.
830am; I heard the door open, and silence. Then I heard her shoes against the wooden tiles. "Good morning! Good morning!" as she crawled into bed and kissed us good morning.
Then the elder followed into the room greeting us good morning.
It happened only once, but I probably miss that moment the most.

We picked the girls up from school after brunch, had an insane moment with the two at the backseat of the car (btw, Sarah puked when we reached home). Rushed to Queensbay (I think it's their biggest shopping mall) then rushed to pick Sherilyn on the way back. No, we had to wait for her cos she refused to do her work! >=(
By the time we got back we barely had time to shower nor eat, we just had to pack and kiss goodbyes to the little ones and leave. =(

So yeah, as posted earlier, the fucking coach abandoned us (and two other individuals) at Woodlands Customs. We had to make 1890352 long distance phonecalls involving the Singapore Gu.nungRa.ya branch which wasn't linked to the Penang one and more more complications you could never think of. We cleared Customs in less than 10 minutes (thanks to the biometric system!) but waited for more than an hour though we clearly saw the bus leave.
IN THE END, we spent unnecessary time and money cabbing back. =(

In any case, we hope we can get our sweaters back somehow. (It will heal half my broke heart) Seems like the bus is returning to Singapore tomorrow morning and our sweaters are still on it.

Had dinner with Shai, Maya, Melz and Yanns that very night of return.
Was too sick and tired to be active actually. But we had a good time anyhow.
Shai wants to go waxing one day. Heh heh.
On the way back, Y and I were overly engrossed with our conversation that she missed her stop. Heh.
Oh And Melz, if you see this, I expect a House Warming anytime sooon!!

***
And now, I hate falling asleep because, I always end up with freaking weird dreams I cannot fathom.

PS: My handphone is screwwwwwed. =( So I'm using a bimbo bright pink phone now, please don't mock meee =(
PPS: THE BEST FRIEND IS BACKKKKK!!

Welcome Home To Reality.

I'm back.
I'm feeling rather paradoxical; it's one of those post holiday feelings.

And I'm overwhelmed with everything that's happening,
greatly losing faith (since a while ago) in the relationship between some.
I'd say it's superficial, maybe it has been all along, but I just didn't want to admit it.
But this is as far as I can go, maybe.

By the way, my adidas baby shoe got stolen in KL,
and my Chanel sweater is still on the coach that sent us back left us behind.
Not to mention, I'm sick. How awesome, isn't it?

Give Thanks

S: "When did (something) happen?"
P: "Beginning of this year?"
S: "The beginning of this year is today."
P: "Oh. HAAHHAHAAHA"

**

Happy 2008, Everyone(:

I spent my eve in a very different way from every other year,
away from crowds, away from noise.
No more rubbing shoulders, sweaty faces, and impatience,
but wind in our faces, still sweaty faces (for some), and assurance as we held each other's hands,
it was slightly surreal, but beautiful.

I missed the party at Mal's. I would really have loved to be there, but I believe in listening to my body. Especially when it screams: YOU! NEED! REST!

No thanks for the 40 starjumps (initially 60) and 20 jumping jacks for my ROCK SOLID thigh muscles now, which I further strained at ice skating, I now have extreme difficulty going up and down the stairs. Haha.

The first day of 2008 was probably spent in the best way possible. With the people I want to keep through my life ( - Zi, who's enjoying in Turkey!!!) in the simplest ways ever.

We changed our plans for today at least 3 times, "too tired to get out of bed",
"too rushed", "no dvds!!!" but we had each other (:
We took stupid photos while walking from one place to another,
took more stupid photos while thinking what we should do,
wasted our life waiting for Alvin and the Chipmunks to buffer,
playing Burger Rush,
I fell asleep while they were talking,
etc, etc.
(We wanted to buy durians but we were too full from lunch, wanted to make waffles with the newly bought Mr. Penguin but it was already used!!)

Made plans for our coming holidays, overseas trip = #1 priority!, plus 348732962 backup plans. My handphone now says: 26th Jan, 11am: MUST meet Seef to shop.
And the first of every month shall be BAO days, since we met today(:

This simplicity; we're gonna miss once school starts,
this laidback freedom; we're gonna lack come 7th Jan,
so it's good we enjoyed it while it lasted.

I don't want school to start,
though I can't wait for IVP.
This holiday has been extremely fulfilling, though taxing, draining, and somewhat miserable at some points.

In Qy's words, "We're gonna own IVP! \m/"
(Ps: Love the handsign. HAHAHA)

"There's so much more than empty conversations filled with empty words."
