Comeback Kings

I get a week off work this week! Not because I'm trying to skive, but because the equipments aren't available so there's nothing to be done anyway.

I have to backtrack more than a week of events and activities, kinda hard for me to pen them down now actually.

I'm finally coming to terms that season is over; we had an awesome preseason leading up to IVPee and now it's hard to say goodbye. The Aussie trip definitely benefitted us, both in terms of game sense and team bonding. After 11 days, we came back a completely transformed team- we were closer, and stronger.

"Imagine you're in Heaven and you're playing touch." - that's what Coach said before every game in OZ. We were stressless, fearless, got thrased upside down. But we always picked ourselves up and hung on for our lives (we were only playing with 11)
And as always, by tradition, the best games are not caught on camera.

We lost IVPee, but this season was AWESOME. It barely felt like we did, though yes the colour of our medal reflects the team standing. I wasn't upset when the final whistle went- it didn't feel like we lost. Of course there was a tinge of disappointment- I could hardly believe that we lost but we never gave up and I'm so proud of ourselves.

A friend labelled us the "King of Comebacks" after what happened in both semis and finals. In Semis we were down 2-0, then caught up 2-1, equalized 2-2, down 3-2 and eventually equalised 3-3 just before the hooter went. Sudden death til 3v3 and we proceeded to finals. It wasn't a smooth ride up, but we made it.

Then Finals: we were 2-0 down by first half, 3-0 down just as the second half started, then caught back up 3-3. We lost sudden death upon the first tap though. Guess you can never be lucky a second consecutive time.

I told the team I was proud of them; during S.unig we were intimidated and under too much pressure and fear. This time, we played fearlessly, and proven to be mentally strong. S said it doesn't feel like we lost cos we played like a champion team (finally), and I guess he's right.
=)

Apart from Ivpee, I've been spending too much time in Hall. Am officially roomless after the new roomie shifted in last night. Due to all the IH track/road relay (dreads) training, am back with lotsa time to waste.

Hence, I've been room hopping! Attended BabyJ's elective with her on Monday cos I was bored shit, and spend lotsa nights with the successor over ipod games (Rotten apples!!)

Yesterday: Lunch with one of my favourite couples! G.ibby and S.iying at H.all13 (: then wasted time at N.IE library helping with English homework: simple present tense, perfective, progressive, active passive voice, Modal: degree of possibility, statement about the future.
Never knew English could be harder than it already is. =)

Dinnered with Penguin and the Loomies for the last time yesterday over Pizza and chicken wings =) Yums. Took lotsa pictures with the Blackbird =) I've yet to see the first roll of film and I'm already excited about developing my second roll! (:
Need to head down to the Bestie's soon to scan the pictures =)

Went down to Terminal1 to send our dearest CANG SANG the fish aka wongjingyu aka Federer's-nanny-to-be while she departs to the Land of Federer (Swiss!) (:
It was a 1am flight but TEAM LOVE > midnight cab fare so most of us went down anyhow =) Also celebrated Buddy Briggy's birthday while we were there. Team love is the best =)
Then 11 of us squeezed into a van as we embarked on the long journey back from ChangiAirport to PulauNtu. =( It was an achievement. (Y)

Dearest Road Rice also found out her MRI results yesterday: Complete ACL tear and partial MCL tear. Op to be done in March after 6 weeks of intense physio. Fat hugs for you dearest! Stay strong and I'll be here for you =)

You're The Direction I follow To Get Home

1)WORK
IA this week's been goodie goodie. (:
Finally starting on experiments: sample prep, gold deposition (unfortunately, I don't have access to the Au otherwise I could steal some and we could all be rich!), lspr measurements, bilayer formation and next week, more molecular testing, more layer by layer depositions and even SEM training!

Okayyyy, I know I sound like a complete nerd now. But I really like it!
I've been working OT the past two days and yes, I've been complaining (though I don't quite deserve to cos I have DAMN slack days too). Just unlucky the OT falls on days I have a tight after-work schedule (non-leisure related)

Lunch breaks have also been awesome with my aN-yoU-aSs pallies, with fellow course mates and the lonely Hub, with my dearest OG mate ongjunx(: , getting used to the way around campus and eating out of school.

Despite the reallyreallyreeeaaalllly low pay, I'm pretty glad I was granted my first choice company. When I'm bored or waiting for results, I can just head over to the Computer Room and I'll always find someone there, or head down to L3 library and disturb Ah Chu. =)
Today, Junx came over while taking a break from his Fyp report and I was showing him the experiment. Also taught him how to use O.rigin to smooth curves (which he still doesn't know how to do after 1 year in Im.re) and he is impressed by me! :D Yay. I also hit my head against a cabinet which has never happened in the past few days but it had to happen when he was around.

J: "Don't worry, I won't tell G you knock your head."
Me: "If you tell her, I'm gonna ask her to 'boxbox' you!!!!"

=)
I win. Heh

2) IVPee
Only 1 game this week instead of the supposed two. Tuesday was our second game against SPee. Anyway, just as I thought I was doing fine, I got sat out TWICE in one game. Apparently I "needed to get out for a while before more possession lost or losing you (me) altogether". In other words, I was being destructive then self destructive/destructed.
We won anyway, 6-2.
Thanks Sugar Fairy for running down from N.us to watch the game! =)

We also caught IVPee Bball girls semis on Tuesday after our game. It was an extremely exciting nerve-wrecking one between us and aN-yoU-aS. From trailing by a-few-points, we caught up to a draw, then to a lead, then gave away free throws and the match ended with a draw. (The coaches of the opposition were so fierce, they even threatened the officials)
So it was extra time of 5 mins where we had a good lead initially until opposition caught up and the aN-Tee-yoU team had to work extra hard to take the lead again.
Eventually we won by two points and it was an awesome, awesome feeling. Plus seeing our fellow (ex) teammie playing so well, leading her team and scoring- we were so proud of her =)

So yesterday was the finals, which we rushed down after training. We were already trailing by a bit, but the bball girls kept trying to catch up. Each time they narrowed the gap, an unexpected (but freaking accurate) 3 point shot will come from the aI-Tee-E girls.
There was a period of time the aN-Tee-yoU team was ON FIRE but it wasn't enough. :(
We lost in the end, by 4 points ( I think?) Cyn still played awesome but it was really sad to see her cry :( She didn't cry when we lost S.UniG and she told us to be strong. So it was really saddd =((

3) FOOD
Been eating way too much fast food, Macs after watching bball on Tues (twister friezzz!), BurgerKing on Thurs and Macs again todayyyyy! :\ Had bubble t on Wed too, and a major frogurt craving due to the insane sun. The BenJerry's at Vivo's closed for renovation too. :(

4) MISC
Work ended early on Monday so I went to fix the oh-so-terrible hair of mine (I snipped my own hair and it was hideous).
Caught Blindside on Wed with liangshit my Curly Hair Friend after lunch with Ahgong and Yanns in campus. =) The show's really really good. =) We both enjoyed it. Shopped for Ahgong's farewell gift before heading down to his place for the (not-so-)surprise farewell party. (:

what will I do without you, Ah gong.

Have a safe flight to London.

For You A Thousand Times Over.

This is Me and My Room mate.

Over the weekend (including Friday),

# I had one last meal with a friend leaving in search of his own W.ondergirl, ate til I was so full, carried a friend's (guy! wooh) backpack on his behalf.

# I left for touch with my jersey, boots, socks, etc but stood under the orange umbrella to cheer the team on. Before half time I walked over to the stands to retrieve my things in temptation to play. But Coach waved her finger and gave a BIG No-no.
I was also late for A.rthur's 21st where I became a big party pooper and felt eternally bad. I learned about making bad decisions but how sometimes we are given second chances.
I also met a friend-on-crutches who had to sneak out of the house and "steal" car keys and drive with an almost disfunctional left leg for a cup of tea while we pondered over decisions we've made/we're going to make, philosophies of life and our future.
I also laid in bed to enjoy the rain and wind though it was almost 4 in the morning and I was still sick.

# I came back to school early on the account of "work to do" (which is not entirely false) because sometimes you choose to follow your heart over a stubborn mind. And you find out it's not too bad a choice either. Accompanied lonelymiserablesickpathetic S for dinner and caught F1 in the TV room over dinner.

# I also abruptly, impulsively, suddenly decided that I want to go GIPCHINA and am going to apply. Oh, the power of persuasion. However, the definite decision will only be made when the acceptance email is received, and of course when I manage to convince myself of all the commitments I can leave behind and safely say, return to six months later.

# I have also spent a huge amount of time with Kite Runner when I should be finishing my readings for the meeting on Tues. But this is definitely better than Thousand Splendid Suns!

Take Back The City.

Jay-see-are-see photoshot from really long ago.

They were always in my other room and I only got them back recently when my tenant shifted out. Plus, insane packing and shifting after my last paper on 30th. S and I cleared the room in less than two hours. Which means, I said my final goodbyes to Thirteen, and I'll never see it again.
It is bittersweet though, as always with all farewells. I hate this place, even though I had an adventure here. It was Thirteen that I grew closer to Eli bitch, where I met wonderful people like Zq the awesome Pres, Sc the bestie, Faz the wonderkid, where memories of Gdine coming over/us sleeping in are kept, memories of FFF and I. This is where I spent 70% of my Freshmen year (the other 30% in school and at training), yet I never quite had a good feeling about it, nor the people. Thirteen is where I had a first-peek into the real REAL world, the pretentious people, the friends-for-benefits, etc. (Too ugly to continue)

But I'm also thankful for the people that have kept me sane; for Chong, for Gibby, for Shaochun, for Elisaliuwenbin, for BrudderKang (who lives in the neighbour hall/block), for Shooo, for Wonderkid, (yeah and unfortunately no girls).
The one and a half year stay would have been worse without you.

Anyhow, we concluded a while back that I was giving up second best for third best in terms of luxury/comfort. And as much as the future is bleak and intimidating, as uncertain as it may be, (especially with the recent turn of events), I can only hope it will be a completely different but better year to come. In a different place, that is.

POST EXAMS:
Can't stop whinging about how brrrroke I am, haha.
My current income is 40/week, of which I feel severely underpaid cos I run til my legs ache so bad and I get backchat(ed) by stupid 16 year olds who think they're so good.

Sent Ycube the manager off last Thurs at the B.udget terminal. It was almost empty, haha. And  she's back already, back at work too. :(
Then I had my starbucks fix before I cut my hair(:

Caught Monster vs Aliens on Friday, it was so stupid. And effectively slept the other 50% of my Friday away after lunch.
Was draggggged out for a movie last min by A.rthur, who just booked out! We caught H.orsemen which was freakingsick and made my insides turn. Felt completely nauseous towards the end and they still had the mood for supper. =\ Geyland serai BCMeesua.

Barely slept and hence had difficulty waking up on Saturday for Touch. Was initially sat out for Womens game so I wasted my cabfare. >=(
But Nic and I played second half anyhow. Played mixed again, against P.irates.
And followed Suuuuuu home to shower before the Sg/Kazak game at Y.ck(:
Very good mothersonny bonding time we had. (:
Dinnered at Ikea after the match with S and family, then caught W.olverine. Not too bad a show(:

Sunday with MrsDarcy,
As usual, lotsa food, lotsa fun, lotsa laughter, lotsa silly moments, spend lotsa money (ok not really), talk too much, take too many pictures. (:

Monday, training training training. EK COME BACK SOOON :(

Tuesday: Waffle fix from G.elare, yay(: And catching the last hours of the DEbraced boy before he leaves for Germany.

Refereeing again, training at Turf again.
The whole field was gross-muddy-smelly-dirty-sick.
And I've pulled out of A.sianchamps. Makes everything alot easier now. (:
So after the crazy sandfly bites attack, I've weird rash around my legs and arms now.
Freaking fields.

My Favourite Hello.

A Saturday ago, we had the first trials for the Summer Season.
Then rushed down to the Zoo where it was flooded with lotsa people.
Made our way through the 6.2km half jogging, half walking. We took lotsa silly pictures, made silly faces (and noises) and said silly things.
Lightbulb(ed) over dinner then headed down for the Surprise Farewell Party for Liangshit. (Whom we said our bittersweet goodbyes to on Tuesday) They gave themselves away quite a few times yet the silly boy didn't know anything at all. (:
Caught up with ex friends, ex lovers, and still-friends. And got a lift home.

*****

This Saturday, it was peaceful and quiet. No more drama, no more trauma.
Simple yet supreme(:
We had our typical weekend morning breakfast, then headed to Turf for our opening game. Which was unfortunately against our own Senior Team. We lost miserably, 11-2. Needless to say. =(
Headed to R.afflescity to get Helium Balloons :D Very very pretty(:
And waited close to 30mins for a stupid bus and watched rugby.
Coincidentally, his number was 11 that game(:

Chompchomp for dinner :D and Ben.jaminButton which I think is overrated. (:

Anyway, call me sadistic but I think I secretly like Surprises-gone-wrong.
Not that it is any funny how something you've planned goes haywire,
just that it leaves a stronger impression and lingers around your memory longer.
Just like the semianonymous flowers. (: Haha. Thank you. (:

Take The Front Seat.

"Looks like......."
"Looks like what?"
"Looks like ... a giant slipper!"
"Huh?!"
"When the wind blows, it ...."
"yeaahhhh ... ?"
"it........... zzzzzzzz"

***

Wasted 3/4 the day in bed (woke up around 5ish), caught Iron Man on Thursday at Suntec. I hate Eng Wah. It's damn lok kok, seriously. And the crowd was bloody rowdy.

Nydc-ed for dinner (like in 25mins?) cos we were rushing for the show,

suppered with many other friends + people I don't know at THE Hk cafe down at Upper East Coast (the one with the RED signboard!).

Had HL Strawberry Milk + Cleo for company in the early mornings on Friday,
before Jalan Kayu prata at Novena (WHOA, the contradiction), Toys R' Us shopped, and headed back to school to pack for home;

Met the roomie for some yummy pizza (!!) (Ps: I am not a huge fan of pizza AT ALL), drinks, and watch some lousy band perform.
Saturday,

I woke up on the reversed side of the bed (literally) cos it was so warm I decided to sleep closer to the fan. Woke up to many messages and a morning call for breakfast: McGriddles! Left for turf, rushed and panicked, reached and nearly died under the hot sun, arrived and heard: NO GAME TODAY. WTF-ed and went home, detoured down to Marina/Esplanade area, cheese fondued at home (thanks to the Sis and BF).

CLARINASED.
SLEPT.
SLEPT.
SLEPT.
Woke up with a slight fever and a Dad making a huge fuss over it.

Then we celebrated Mothers' Day 1 week in advance at Dian Xiao Er. Yummy(: But I didn't really have much of an appetite. Close to midnight, I had homemade Honey Water(: and made two aimless trips around my neighbourhood by foot. (:

Skipped church on Sunday to head down to airport to send V off.

But before that, was greeted with Milo toast from Toast Box! Went back to school to pack more shit, again. Now my room really is almost bare and my house is damn packed. Quote unquote Sis, "People bring stuff back from hall, plus what they have at home = 1 cupboard. You bring your stuff back, plus the stuff you have at home, = 2 cupboard?!?!"

Then from Boon Lay, we went down to the other end of the world, skytrained from T3 to T2 (for lunch) and T1 (for our intended purpose) then back to T3 to head home. She says we look alike cos of the small eyes that undoubtedly contributes to the arrogant look. Heh.

Vivoed in the evening but we left emptyhanded =(

Homecooked food for dinner! (:

Been watching lots of movie downloads too, 27 dresses, The Bucket List, Texas Chainsaw (SICK SHIT!) Life probably sounds pretty boring to you, but I'm satisfied with the simplest pleasures for now. (:

And now, instead of hitting the pavements for a good jog, I decided to take a nappy nap.

Sooo, goodnight(:

Dying Thoughts Of A Paper-Backed Writer (Wannabe)

{EDITED}
Hi, my life is mother boring.
More boring than words can describe.

So I shall not allow my lack of vocabulary to further emphasise my bored boring life.

Spent my Easter with 2 groups of people, the first, included one who woke up at 7:55am, when we were supposed to meet at 8am, but rushed down by 8:10 am. Amazing.

The second, was 2 people who refused to take photos with me, but allowed me to take photos of them. Weird.

---

Monday was dinner at BotakJones with Mr (soon to be) Botak (Jones)Wong.
I told you he's an Ahbeng. And we nearly got lost, hilarious!

----

Bao (- Seef) on Wed, when I called to ask where they were, I had the shock of my life, "Fish & Co".
Sorta objected so we went Crystal Jade (Yay, Chinese Food!), squeezed through Bugis St. minutes before it closed, with Alicia's classic, "Can I go to the toilet first?"
And holding up workers of Ice Monster cos we went at 22:08 when they shut at 22:00. Oops. But we helped them make quite a bit of business.

----

Impromptu lunch with the Patrick Star on Thursday, who braved the rain, and found her way to the "agar agar building" (Look like agar agar meh!). Yummy nasi lemak, plus milky-enough-Iced Milk Tea, and more walks in the rain. My brave pain-from-needles survivor!

---

Then dinner, with THREEOFUS,
#1: Hair-py with Hair.
#2: I'll let you figure what the picture is for, but hint: Don't look at us. The background's more interesting. Especially the backdrop of the person in the background.
#3: Ah Lian/Beng/Hui in the making, yoh!
#4: random
#5: The difference between a Dancer, a soon-to-lose-his-sanity armyboy, and an Athlete.
#6: Hungry. (Pong, you see that? NO SMOKING)

Food there was somewhat disappointing, but I'm willing to give it a second try. Haha.
But I hate Western! Shall wait for the craving.

---

This auntie damn slow! Called at 3:52pm saying she ended work, called at 4:40 something, "Oh I'm at Boon Keng already"
Pictures 2, 3, 4 are stages of our durian fest,
and we blasted 38$ on those 3 durians man.
The last picture is happyhappy durian smiles with durian shells!
All right, photo captions another day, I'm lazy.

--

The success of a younger generation, usually depends on that of the previous.

Because skills, experiences, advice, are usually passed down from one to another.
So when one fails, do you blame the failures,
or their mentors?

Is it their incompetence,
or the mentor's insufficient guidance?
Or worse, the mentor's over helpfulness.

We're sorry to hear this,
I really am.

---

The Sun is amazingly hot today! I like, I like!

I'm burping durians and tomyam soup, they taste like Peach Vodka.

I sold my N6680! I'm so lost without it, all my memos are written on scraps of paper, and my phonebook is empty!! (cos I'm lazy to copy it).

-

I'm going to bed.
See you in Penang, blog.

One more thing before I go..

Rock Steady!

Today, Zi and I went on Budget shopping and got earrings for 1$ and 4 hair ties for 2$. I love this girl. (:

Oh and did I mention we met 12 familiar people/groups of people. Each of which alternated between SA and PL? So cool, please.

Omg, I just did 387036 Christmas cards.
And I have another 2975368091 to go. ):
And OMG, my hand is like all red and sore, the floor's a mess, the table's madness!

But anyhow, I like Feiiers one the BEST! (: It's soo cute and special. Okay, biased. :\ Haha.

I can't believe I'm leaving tomorrow! Sigh. Don't really have a very good feeling about this trip. =\

Anyway, don't understand why certain people have this misconception that when they message me they must pay more!
OKAY CLARIFICATION TIME:
The only dude that has to pay more is MEMEME when I reply you.
When you message me, it's to a local number, so DON'T NEED TO PAY MORE.

(Hint: Please message me leh. Tell me you miss me, okay? Haha)

And I will try to reply if I can. Mom got a Malaysian line. WHEEEE!

Well, 'til then, folks.
Doubt I will be online tomorrow cos I HAVEN'T PACKED MY STUFF
And I'm going out til afternoon somemore! HAHAHAHA
SHIATE.
Love you all. MUACKS. (hahaha)

(H, sorrysorry! Very busy!)

This is the Best I can go.

I got myself IE7.
And damn, it's screwing every shit up.
I screwed my blog template.
I screwed my night too. (No, not because of the blog template)

Anyhow, today I cooked myself two sunny side up eggs.
And for dinner, I had toast with Kaya, and Peanut Butter.
So ironic how I'm (crazily) addicted to Toasts now.
When I don't even like bread and eggs to start with.
~

(I can't rmb what I did last Friday, or Saturday, so let's start with Sunday)

# Accompanied Yanns for Manicure, together with Sweets.
# Down to Cheryl's for House Farewell, which we were so very terribly late for.
And Glenn (not in picture) says: "On behalf of the 6th House Council, I'd like to..."
Us: "Seventh!!!"
Glenn: "Huh? Oh okay.. On behalf of the 6th House Council, ..."
Us: "Seventh!!!!"

That was really funny.
We left for Prata then home.

***

Tuesday was Prom already! (:
I am not gonna post any photos because I don't really like how I looked. It was DRASTIC man.

(it rained ): But we had Herngs to the rescue!)

Criticise the lashes all you want but it was really, not a self choice okay. Haha.
And everyone couldn't recognise me. ): Not even damn good friends. The only person who could recognise me was TAY YEW WEI! (and I love his Bart Simpson tie)

I think eventually, it reached a point where I was kinda tired of saying, "It's Phil." so I stopped going round to take photos. No wonder I only have so little photos. ):

We crashed back into the lovely Gallery Hotel after only like, 2 hours in Attica? BOO!!

And this hotel, has some sorta see through glass separators between the toilet (or should I say, Bath tub!) and the bed.
Sexy stuff, cos it's meant to be a couple room anyway.

I barely slept, cos I couldn't.
I made L go down alone, across the road to SPC to get breakfast for us. And stupid him, wore the hotel slippers (or whatever they're called)

We decided to go down to the pool after breakfast.
It was so shallow, 0.4m only! (The shallow part)

Then we laid down on the chairs, and admired the scenary- construction site please.
But L was observing how often the crane rotates and all.
Then we were talking and talking.....
.
.
.
Til I fell asleep on him. (Sorry L.)

And the freaky thing-
When I woke up,
IT WASN'T L NEXT TO ME ANYMORE!
It was someone else. Gosh. Shock of my life.

Z came down later, then L came back with Yanns& Annabella. And we sat around til 10+ and headed back up to wake everyone up.

We left for PS for breakfast/lunch/brunch,
But Yanns, A and I settled for toastbox, while the rest went up.

And I left for home. Which, I couldn't sleep!

***

THURSDAY, totally felt like Wednesday. After half a day of agency registering and short interview ing and typing test ing, we decided that it would be a day of "I-haven't-done-this-before!" so we went to Vivo cos Y hasn't been there. And we ate at Food Republic cos L hasn't eaten there. (And I bumped into Lesbo!) And we watched HAPPYFEET cos neither of us have watched it, nor caught a movie in Vivo.

Then after that I met ZOE and PING for dinner at Chompchomp(:

And we slacked around Coffeebean for a while.

I got home, and Hr wanted to come over. That drunken bastard. We made last minute plans to go over to K's instead and I had to lug him all the way there.

And he's so hard to get out of bed too. Rah.
I wasn't trying to act superstarxz. I just had dark eye rings to hide. ):

And we woke up early at 5! No, actually K & I didn't even sleep. Rushed to the airport but in the end, K's dad volunteered to send us there.

Denise is leaving for Canada, for further studies. Though I wasn't really close to her, she was always a joy to have man. She's really sweet la!

We had BK breakfast cos stupid WangJiao was inside the departure halls. And Jm, Cali and I accompanied Becca for Ban Mian. And I was falling asleep then already. Was trying very very hard to keep awake.

I got home and crashed, oblivious to everything man.

**

Ding dearest willingly accompanied me everywhere on Saturday, where we walked along the same stretch of roads along Raffles Place at least twice. And both job interviews were FOS and crappy and a waste of my (and Ding's) time.

By the time we got down to town, it was almost 6 already. We went Food Republic for dinner (again!) cos I kinda wanted Toast (again!) but I didn't in the end. I got Yuanyang (?) drink, which totally sucked and I was unhappy with it! >=(

We walked to *Scape, thinking we were early but the performance already started. And we saw Tanny(:

Strikeforce and their drums. Jon leong. Hady was there too. I have photos of him too. But I can't be bothered to put them up.
No. This is not my boyfriend. Lol.

**

Is this what They call Indifference?

Ps: I created my own MSN smiley! Yay!
Pps: If you happen to know how to save my blog template, please tell me.
